SFID or Strike Force Idaho is a online gaming club of some friends who lived in Soda Springs, Grace and Pocatello, Idaho.
All of us knew one another, Gary Etchison was the common denominator as he knew the other three independently.  Gary and Kevin Pitcher had been friends since the late 1970’s as Kevin was raised in Grace, Idaho where Gary lives.  Later Gary worked with Rick Stokoe in Soda Springs, and still later, Gary met Lance Oviatt who was the District Court Reporter in Soda Springs.  Gary introduced each of these friends to one another and we eventually in about 2003 were playing online war games with one another.  We first played Red Alert, and Delta Force.  We also began playing Delta Force Blackhawk down and Lance came up with a name for our team:  SFID for Strike Force Idaho.  We all agreed the name was good and that is how our team began.  Now Lance and I are playing Call of Duty 2, and we are hoping the others will join in and get the team going.  We use Yahoo Messenger and Skype for communication on the internet, the voice on it works well and it is automatic.  Skype is our preferred voice communication, it is free and simply put it works!

Lance Oviatt call sign (SFID Fastfingers) who resides in Afton, Wyoming  Occupation Court Reporter
Gary Etchison call sign (SFID Foxtrot) who resides in Grace, Idaho Occupation Deputy Sheriff
Rick Stokoe call sign (SFID Tankace) who resides in Nyssa, Oregon Occupation  Police Officer
Kevin Pitcher call sign (SFID Impact) who resides in Pocatello, Idaho Occupation Ret. Idaho National Guard and Auto Zone
~Notation~
SFID Fastfingers was chosen by Lance because he is a Court Reporter and his fingers have to move fast to do the job.
SFID Foxtrot was chosen by Gary because it is his Citizens Band Radio call sign and it just seemed natural.
SFID Tankace was chosen by Rick because he used to play a Tank Game and began with that handle and kept it.
SFID Impact was chosen by Kevin for a funny reason, while he was at National Guard in the Boise Desert, he lost a Impact wrench and it was never seen again.  Some of the guys in his unit affectionately called him Impact.

All the Charter Members listed above became Generals in Delta Force Blackhawk Down

Gary Five Star General
Lance Four Star General
Rick Four Star General
Kevin Three Star General

If you don't continue playing Blackhawk Down the stats go away, but we did earn the titles when we played it!

~Recruitment~
SFID is looking for new members to join us in our online gaming experience.
We prefer people who live in Idaho or have lived in Idaho, however we will consider anyone who wishes to join our team!
Application can be made by copying and pasting the below application form into Word or Word Perfect and then emailing the application to us.
The Charter Members will review the application and make response to the person filing the application for membership.
At this time there are no fees charged or collected, we simply have this club for members to have fun and enjoy online war gaming.  By recruiting new members we wish to gain enough enrollment so when a few of us are online to play we can have a few on a team, or if all of us are on a larger team.
If the club grows and we can get an acceptable number of members who are active we might consider making our own server.  If we ever do, it may require some upkeep fees, but that would be way down the road and would have to be agreed upon by all the Charter Members before it could be considered.
If you are approved, then we will send you the contact information so you can add all of
the other members on Yahoo messenger so you can communicate when in a game.  We use
headsets and most of us drape the ear portion around our neck still using our speakers to
hear with, but the microphone is necessary so we can use voice.  It works well.  We can
also use Teamspeak if people prefer.  Anyway send in an application and lets get our team
organized and moving forward.  Thanks from all the members of SFID.
